I don’t get it- you have to carry around the board and the pen…what is the difference between this and simply bringing a pen and pad of paper? I was disappointed. After reading all of the great reviews, I guess I expected something special! We played it a few times when we first got it, but since then it has been sitting untouched (for about six months). However, we frequently play the “old-fashioned” hangman in waiting rooms, restaurants, etc. …when it just isn’t convenient to carry around the board. Overall, a waste of money!

I got this toy with the idea of taking it on a long plane ride. However I had to use it earlier for a long car trip. It was great and kept 4yr old very occupied. I didnt know it was a wooden toy before I got it, now I doubt if I can take it in my cabin baggage? But a great toy overall.

This game is lots of fun and my 6 year old doesn’t even realize that he’s playing an educational game. Made very sturdy. Parents will also enjoy playing this classic game with their child. My child never got bored with it either! Highly recommend it.

I ordered this for my almost 8 year old son to take on a long airplane trip. We just got it last night and he LOVES it! I was really surprised, because he’s much more into video games and if it even remotely smells of something educational…he’s out! :) He didn’t want to stop playing this, however. I think the wooden blocks that you have to flip over for the letters and “hangman” are what makes it so fun. Even my 2 year old got in on it by helping us to flip over the pieces. Another review asked what the difference was between this and a pen and paper…well…duh…the fun blocks and dry erase marker are what make it cool. Plus it seems like it’s really well made, as most Melissa and Doug items are. I definitely reccommend it!

Great toy. Kept our kids (and us) entertain during a long drive. Great concept, although I fear that the elastic won’t last as long as the toy and if an elastic breaks, won’t be able to fix it. We’ll worry about it if it happens, until then, it’s a great toy to keep in the car.
